There are so many resources available to help us gain insight, practice self-care, provide self-soothing and increase compassion for ourselves and others. As a therapist, I find that our clients teach us so much! Like bees spreading pollen, we can share what each of us discovers. Here are just a few useful offerings; over time we will add more - from our research, wise colleagues, and you! Take your time exploring, return often, and send us your most engaging and insightful books and references to share with others. We do not vouch for the content of each and every resource - explore with discernment! Where possible, for printed materials, we have tried to provide a link to an independent, and if possible BIPOC-owned bookstore. But you know where else to find them if need be...

This article addresses an important distinction and asks some probing questions. I personally learned a lot about why this is an important distinction. And I also want to explore that last point much more deeply: how do self-esteem and self-worth actually interact? How can we use one to improve and strengthen the other?
